I’m anti gun-control, but the firearms point you’re bringing up is actually hurt by this infographic. The U.S. has lower violent crime rates than the UK but higher homicide rates. That means that although the U.S. has fewer crimes, each crime is much deadlier. Do guns have an effect? Probably. After all, most burglaries don’t involve guns, but I bet the vast majority of ones that end in homicide do.
